Natural Immune Boosting for Children

This workshop will introduce the parent to a simple but powerful acupressure based protocol easily used to protect children from colds, sore throats, earaches, and other common childhood illnesses!

The child, even more than the adult, is exposed on a daily basis to new objects, new people, and new experiences that he or she must integrate into her/his rapidly growing understanding of the world. We call this process, "learning." These exposures will challenge the child to adapt and integrate this new information or let go of what is not useful. When a new experience creates a conflict for the child to integrate and appears to pose a threat of some kind, the child's immune system may be overwhelmed.

Mother Nature has designed children so they are maximally receptive to their environment and to other people. For the most part, this is a brilliant plan and makes learning easy and helps guarantee survival. As the brain matures, our systems we tend to automatically discriminate and exclude what we don't want or isn't good for us. We experience this as increased immunity.

As parents, we can step in and help our children gently process disturbing or challenging experiences or information. This is where the protocol goes into action. Easily and naturally, in just a few minutes time, we can reduce the work for the child's immune system, keeping it from going into overwhelm and keeping the child healthy. At an appropriate age, the child can be directly included in the protocol and can choose to process upsetting experiences or encounters with support from an adult. Wonderful side benefits from this practice are enhanced feelings of competence and security for the child, as well as a few minutes of loving quality time shared with the parent.
